    There are two ways to image the prenatal brain. One is ultrasound, and we use it to assess congenital brain malformations such as holoprosencephaly, Chiari syndromes, Dandy-Walker, etc. The other is MRI. This is still in its infancy (sorry... had to use that), and may remain that way because to get good MRI scans the subject has to hold still, and it's hard to get a fetus to do that.
